Bioplastics production and product performance will be on focus in startup Garage by NPE2015

Latest news from NPE2015 is that is upcoming launch of the startup garage that attracts various ventures with latest technologies. This startup garage is nothing but a program developed by SPI in partnership with promising ventures. A directory has been prepared with significant location involving stations at the show which will be held between 23rd and 27th March, 2015 in Orlando, FL. In this directory, total 12 startups have been chosen as well as more demand from market is there. SPI, the developer of the programs states that expansion of the startup garage space is being planned for accepting more applications.

Companies selected for this purpose will represent their achievements in the field of bioplastics development, 3D printing, resin processing, polymerization and antimicrobial polymers. Brad Williams, the director trade show sales and marketing in SPI states that the response to call for applications is highly positive and new companies are interested to show what they are doing new in the field of polymer technology. On the other hand, some of the startups are also there to suggest innovative ideas and highlighting issues regarding renewable resources and waste reduction. Manufacturing of eco-friendly plastic and their performance will be on main focus.

Royal DSM plans to elaborate the production of Akulon Polyamide 6

Royal DSM declared that the company is going to launch and advance polymerization plant in NA soon. This plant is being planned for production of Akulon Polyamide 6 (PA6) polymers to be employed in the field of food packaging. The latest planned project is the first polymerization plant in the country after development of infrastructure of the company in Europe and Asia, the most important thing to notice about the project is that it is ready to introduce an awesome growth strategy in material science. Investment on this project also demonstrates that the company is growth ambitious and looking for continuous growth in production of Akulon Polyamide 6.

Recyclable feedstock to produce biopolymer for production of biobased plastic

Exponential growth and development of bioplastics in the international plastic industry gives rise to eco friendly production in a fast manner. As bioplastics are obtained from natural sources and developed with the feature of biodegradability and composite properties, they are preferred by most of the plastic manufacturing groups all over the world. There are two main factors to influence the growth of these products; high level technical expertise and regularly increasing demand of sustainable products. PLA i.e. the polylactic acid became the most demanded bio-based polymer during recent years. Fermentation of sugars leads towards production of lactic acid and polylactic acid. Some of the renewable energy sources such as sugar beet, corn, sugar cane etc. are employed for development of PLA. As the subjected resources can be recycled at least once annually, the supply of energy resources for production of PLA remains adequate throughout the year. Nowadays, leading researchers focus their researches for development of lactic acid through non food crops.

The most important thing to know about the polymer is that after polymerization of lactic acid to polylactic acid, the biopolymer gains some good properties such as durability, thermo-stable feature and reinforced status.
