Wal-Mart announced about the natural cleaning product with the “Great value Naturals” brand that effectively reporting one of the leading conventional cleaners. This product is acclimatized through plants and other natural evolves used for the cleaning technology. This product is completely free from chemicals, toxin and uses only biodegradable as well as non allergic elements. It also uses recyclable material while packing that make it completely bio-based product.

Avantium’s Bio based T shirts from PEF bottles, a new step towards eco friendly commercialization

For the first time, Avantium is going to launch the collection of PEF T shirts. PEF bottles are recycled into PEF fibers first and then utilized for the production of bio based shirts through conventional processing of polyester. The technology and equipments employed for the job are same as applied for the processing of polyester. Polyethylene furanoate (PEF) resin is known as a completely degradable and recyclable product so that it can work well for Eco friendly commercialization.

According to Tom van Aken, the CEO Avantium, this exclusive step towards the development of bio based T shirts is really a good example of development and commercialization of PEF resin. The bio based T shirts processed out of this can be applicable for sportswear series and sports apparel in many reputed outlets. The high performing recyclable plastic material can give alternate for replacing non biodegradable plastic material in future.


Avantium tied bond with ALPLA, the European plastic converter for the development of PEF bottles and with Wifag Polytype thermoformed PEF containers. Those PEF bottles are produced by the combination of 2:5 furandicarboxylic (FDCA) and monoethylene glycol. Earlier, the company preferred employing PET product but soon they realized that PEF has better quality to beat PET such as better barrier for CO2, water and oxygen, decreased production cost and higher durability.
