Cost and availability to influence business plans for production of bio-based materials

Most of the eco-friendly product manufacturers in the world focus on production of bio-fuels and bio-polymers. For this purpose, food crops are employed in general but the government pressurizes to employ non-food cellulosic materials for this purpose. According to Lux Research, about 2.5 billion tons of cellulosic biomass are available in the modern time which are led by 1.2 billion tons of solid waste at different costs.

Andrew Soare, senior analyst of Lux Research stated that cost and availability are the two leading factors when analysis of feasibility of these biomass options is carried out. Andrew also prepared the report, ‘Quantifying Cost and Availability of Cellulosic Feedstocks for Bio-fuels and Biochemicals.’

He further says that various business plans in the modern time are still being created with low feedstock costs, despite of cellulosic feed-stocks potential. This is why, most of the business plans face failure and require optional plans. Also, some strategies become unsuccessful due to rising costs don’t meet proven feedstock value. Through evaluation of various cellulosic biomass sources, analysts of Lux Research found out that local availability is the key to success and wood residues can be used widely for production of bio-based materials.

PlantBottle used in Ford Fusion

The coca-cola company is working in the field of bio-based materials, via which the forthcoming generation will not face any kind of problems. The bio-based materials are environment friendly and will not cause any sort of pollution. For spreading the concept, the coca-cola company arranges the presentation for the update of their PlantBottle product’s sale. The PlantBottle is the bio-based PET product that is prepared by the sugarcane based monoethylene glycol that is around to be 30 percent by weight and rest is of PTA i.e. Petroleum-based Terephthalic Acid, where as PET means Poly Ethylene Terephthalate. The coca-cola company works with the Ford Fusion company, both companies work for the welfare of the people as well as save the earth from the pollutant.
Using the PlantBottle Material
The bio-based material that is PlantBottle material is used in the renowned vehicle company that is Ford. PlantBottle is used as a part in the Ford’s hybrid research vehicle as the interior fabric. The PlantBottle material is highly durable and delivers the long-term service. The bio based PET fabrics are used for the seat backs, door panel inserts, headliners, seat cushions, head restraints. The bio-based PET fabrics are prepared by the plant ingredients, so it will deliver the superior service as well as durability.
