Carlsberg will bring biodegradable wood-fiber bottles for use in beverages

Carlsberg has made an announcement of ground-breaking agreement for development of the totally
biodegradable wood fiber container for beverages. This will be the first fully biodegradable wood fiber bottle of the world. With collaboration of Innovative Fund Denmark and Technical University of Denmark, the company has begun a project with ecoXpac, the packaging company for three years. This new project will be known as the green fiber bottle. All the materials to be used in this bottle project will be biodegradable and sustainable. This is how; the project will be completely degradable.

Andrea Dawson Shepherd, Senior VP for Corporate Affairs, Carlsberg stated that the firm believes in the significance of a circular economy for assurance of sustainable growth in future and developing the world into the green planet. Further she stated that if the project will be successful, it will make a remarkable change as an option for packaging liquids.  In this way, the plan will lead towards the zero waste technology. Forming a part of Carlsberg Circular Community, this new project will utilize cradle to cradle framework while development and marketing of the same. The Carlsberg Circular Community CCC has been founded by six partners with two new partners, 1HQ and ecoXpac while CCC goals for adding 15 partners by 2016.
