DSM will participate in the next Bioplastics Conference which will be held during the last week of January in Miami, Florida. In this conference, a presentation by Dr. Kees Tintel, business manager of EcopaXX will represent an outline about bio-based alternatives to oil based products. A high performance 70 percent bio-based polyamide PA410 is one of the best examples of EcopaXX. From the family of long chain polyamides, this compound has been characterized by good features present in it such as low moisture absorption and good chemical resistance. Also, this product has high crystallization rate and high melting point.
Apart from the presentation by Kees, DSM will introduce more about the performance of bio-based materials like Arnitel Eco and EcopaXX in the conference. Both of these products are good for their performance in critical technical components. As the material is certified for being totally carbon neutral; means the amount of carbon-di-oxide emitted during the manufacturing of EcopaXX is equal to the amount absorbed by plants.
