Carbios plans to develop the advance innovative controlled biodegradation process for disposing soft plastics

One of the well developed green chemistry companies, Carbios possesses specialization in introduction of technologies committed to recover plastic waste and manufacturing of biopolymers. The company moved forward for progression of controlled compostable process in order to dispose plastic wares. VALAGRO, the co-owner and long time partner of Carbios works upon an extensive project, method to prepare a biopolymer; CNRS is also partner of the company in this project.

The advance process helps the company to get bio-compostable plastic wares through an enzyme and a polymer based upon oil. This enzyme is known well for losing up to half of its mass within two weeks and full mass within three months. In this way, the technology of the company is useful for the industrial world to promote evolutions for carrying out safe and quick degradation of plastic materials.

Carbios successfully maintained the process of biodegradation for preservation of enzyme’s catalytic activity when it is added to plastic wares and introduced to high temperatures such as 338°F. This process makes the company outstanding on global level, extensively in food industry, agricultural field and packaging industry. Jean Claude Lumaret, Carbios’ CEO stated that managers are proud to this new venture.
