Braskem, the world class manufacturer of sustainability products and polymers has announced to join the collaboration of Amyris and Michelin. The objective of this collaboration is generation and commercialization of isoprene for which various biomass works as the source. As per the terms of agreement, all the three companies will work together for generation of a technology that will help utilization of bio-sugars for production of bio-polymers.
Under the terms of the agreement, Braskem, Michelin and Amyris will work together to develop a technology to utilize plant sugars, such as those found in Brazilian sugarcane or cellulosic feedstocks, to produce renewable isoprene. In America, Michelin and Amyris are the two reputed groups who will utilize expertise of Braskem for industrial development of isoprene.

Although, Michelin is good for production of biopolymers but in this case, it will just maintain preferential of the production by accessing to the technology used for production of renewable isoprene. The most important thing to notice in this whole scenario is that the companies will not reveal their financial contributions and agreements for the production. The joint collaboration is beneficial for Michelin especially as this will offer some extra sustainable channel for poly-isoprene so that it can manufacture quality tires.
