Genomatica has conducted a survey on sustainability with ICIS recently. The first survey of the company was held on 2009 and this one is the third survey. The special fact about this survey is that it is extensive for raising the topic of sustainability in the chemical industry. This post will throw light upon some key observations which are occurred as the result of this survey.

69% and 67% companies are there to state respectively that their organization has sustainability policy or developing the same and their company keeps sustainable products at the top position. Also, they are planning to promote sustainable products through variety of marketing services and active leading. In this way, engagement of customers in the business becomes simplified. From the economic point of view also, over 40 percent manufacturers works for economic advantage so far. Another thing to consider here is that exposure to the petroleum market should be reduced.

Manufacturers state that over 80 percent customers show the best interest in sustainable chemicals. In this way, this fact is highlighted that strong growth in customer demand occurs and supports driving swifter action. Chemical producers are acting for production of good products and planning differentiation in sustainability.
