NFS offered the grant of $20 million to the University of Minnesota for development of bio-plastics

According to statement of the center director Marc Hillyer, there is no lack of already producing and available bio-plastics in the market still this field needs to be introduced with something advance and revolutionary. The main objective of the University is to lower down the cost of bioplastics and manufacturing high quality stuff for competing with the conventional bio-plastics. He further adds that researches being planned by the company will promote advance discoveries. With the help of well developed industry partners, the university is looking for unique and remarkable work in the market. Most of the system’s resources involve plant-derived biomass for this purpose and the center has already developed a block copolymer resin.
