Matrica is partner of 50:50 percent with Versalis and Novamont; both of these companies are respectively Italian petrochemical products’ manufacturer and the international bioplastic group. This joint venture utilizes a proprietary technology which will be more advance than existing technologies. According to Catia Bastioli, the managing director of this new venture, these plants have not been designed to use ozone during oxidative scission reaction; in this way azelaic acid and pelargonic acid is produced as intermediate products. The entire process of vegetable oil development is environment friendly.
