DuPont looking ahead to escalations in bioplastic

DuPont Co. is planning to develop its portfolio of biopolymers with sustainability feature. With the day by day increasing competition in the world of bioplastics, demand of efficient bioplastic manufacturers has been raised by 19 percent on international level. Rick Bell, the manager of DuPont states that the company is planning to make about half of the pace of its product line biobased within 15 years. As the company is going through the process of conversion of polymers into biobased feedstocks from petro based feedstocks, soon the company will have most of its part converted into biobased production lines. The company is committed for development of innovative biopolymers along with novel applications for relevant materials. DuPont spared 6.3 million dollars for acquiring Dansico; the expert of enzyme chemistry. According to the president of performance polymers of DuPont, Patrick Lindner, Dansico has good efficiency of taking biobased feedstocks; the company works extensively for breakdown of material for manufacturing of new ones through the enzyme chemistry. DuPont works for elaborating capabilities of Danisco in the field of biobased processing for production of useful chemicals conversely. This makes the company capable of developing low cost polymers with innovative properties.
