Dutch Plastic and Rubber Association and SABIC signed a green deal with the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs for development of green certificates for bio-based plastic products and bio-based sustainability feedstock. The main objective to work behind is to connection with the authorized international schemes for bio-plastic products. In addition, the green deal supports to the German INRO-initiatives to meet the same goal. When a product possesses green certificate, it means certain product has been grown and processed under terms of sustainability. The sustainability criteria depend upon greenhouse gases, environmental factors, bio-diversity, health of local people, economic framework conditions and competition for food.

Although, the green deal has not any scheme for green certificate still it is based upon the list of certain criteria for sustainability which are applied for deciding the quality of the sustainability product. The main thing to be noticed in this entire scenario is that encouragement of members is done by the Dutch Chemical and Polymer Association in order to fulfill the green deal criteria. That’s how, the company who are working for production of bio-based polymers and composites develop their products for attaining green certificate. Production companies work together with certification groups to know whether their products can be certified or not.
