A Europe based project, ECOplast has been planned for development of certain bioplastics on the basis of PLA and Nanoclays that will be good for automotive field. 4 years back, when the project has been started, it becomes successful to meet the goal of developing substances to contribute well in the automotive industry. The best part to know about this project is that a PLA based substance has been reinforced with nanoclays has been developed also with another material PBP. Later is a synthetic polymer which is used to convert protein into silk and possess really impressive features. Due to some problems, this product is not prepared to be launched in the market right now.

This ultimate project has been set up by the 7th Framework Programme of the European Union and involve up to 13 partners including various universities, developers and converters from different countries. PLA, the main production of the project is applied for development of car interior. According to a report, the bioplastics developed by various countries under this collaborative project are highly useful from the environment safety point of view. Secondly, these products possess amazing properties to catch attention of plastic product developers.
