This accidental discovery has introduced a non-hazardous and non-toxic plastic made up of totally biomaterial. Also, it is very cheap for replacement of polyurethane. Now, Plantics BV the spin-off company has been set up for introducing this material to the market. Rothernberg states that Amsterdam is a great opportunity for regional bio-based companies. Further he states that only eco-frienldy feature in bioplastic is not sufficient but it also should be of economical benefit for the company. So, sustainability and economic viability are the two most important factors an advance bioplastic is expected with.
