Sustainability report of Coca Cola shows progress in the development of bio-packaging

Coca Cola is again in discussion nowadays for the reason it has set the recycling bar with the objective 75 percent of recovery of cans and bottles which are planned to be introduced in the market till 2020. According to the CEO Muhtar Kent, the way to operate is based upon great strides on packaging initiatives. In the field of plant bottle packaging, the company has set up its special venture; the first commercial scalable collection of bottles has been developed partially from plants. Recently, the company is working in total 36 markets of the world which are identified for recovery and recycling of products.

Coca Cola has attained good reputation in Japan and Belgium as recycling, reuse and reduction of materials are vital enough to decrease the rate of carbon dioxide emission. As it is well known now that packaging plays an important role in the direction of environment pollution, the company is paying attention in the production of bio-based plastic for packaging.

Now the plant bottle packaging of Coca Cola is substituting the conventional packaging in which fossil-based raw materials are used. The market of plant bottle packaging has been extended upto 40 countries all over the world.
