Biotec the Emmerich Company unveils Compostable bag

Biotec, a company based in Emmerich, Germany, has come up with a remarkable new innovation which is the solution to the problem of plastic bags in the EU. Biotec has produced “Bioplast 500” which is completely biodegradable and is fit for organic waste.

Karl-Heinz-Florenz who is an MEP, was very excited about this new innovation coming from his hometown. German citizens on an average use 76 disposable plastic bags per year and all the citizens of the EU on an average use 196 bags per year. A complete ban on plastic bags would not be an efficient solution and it became necessary to look for a substitute. He is eagerly looking forward to his trip to Brussels to support this Biotec product.

Bioplast 500 is made from 60% renewable raw materials. One of the major materials used in the production of Bioplast is potato starch. Biotec are the only manufacturers who meet the stringent regulations regarding the use of bioplastics in Germany.

Biotec is facing certain opposition. Ifo Institute believes that biodegradable plastics are useless unless they are fully biodegradable. Biotec CEO, Peter Brunk, counters this by stating that Bioplast is a fully biodegradable plastic. Malicious rumors also threaten the product. Bioplast Wrap is another patented product of Biotec, which is made from potato starch and not polyethylene. Biotec firmly stands by their product as can be seen in the source article in site - http://www.derwesten.de/staedte/emmerich/kompostierbare-tuete-kommt-von-biotec-aus-emmerich-id9054076.html
